But our mission here at Dalriata is to scour Ireland and the UK for fine food and drink we think you’ll love, and when we came across The Studio Coffee Roasters, we knew we had to bring their products to Germany. These small-batch roasts of carefully selected, single-origin coffee beans from around the world are created with pride by Alan Philips, a certified member of the European Specialty Coffee Association. This one is made using Tolima Canyon Coffee from Colombia, and is available as both ready-ground and whole bean coffee. And if Brazilian or Ethiopian coffee is more your thing, we’ve got those too!
Tolima Canyon Coffee hails from ASOTBILBAO, a community development association based in central Colombia. Their quest leads to sources cultivating premium-grade beans through sustainable, eco-friendly practices. Grown at a height of 1800-2200 metres above sea level, this light roast boasts a delightful profile, delivering a sweet, clear flavour and a creamy body adorned with chocolate, nougat, and stone fruit nuances.
ASOTBILBAO’s story is rooted in a visionary quest. Born from the collaboration of graduates in farming administration, this association, formed in Bilbao, aimed to uplift their local community. Driven by a desire to combat economic challenges in Tolima, ASOTBILBAO’s youthful minds brought organization, technical expertise, and unity to their region.
Over four years, the association expanded to encompass farmers from nearby areas, now comprising 48 dedicated members. ASOTBILBAO fosters its future by rotating leadership and fostering active committees committed to enhancing quality and trade. While coffee remains their primary focus, the group has diversified, including avocados, beans, and tropical fruits like granadilla and lulo in their portfolio.
