Germany is a country blessed with an abundant supply of great chocolate. There’s no question that German chocolate manufacturers make a great variety of delicious products.
But do they have anything like a Cadbury’s Double Decker? No way!
The Double Decker is truly in a class of its own. It somehow manages to be crunchy and chewy at the same time, with a layer of sticky nougat on top, and crispy biscuit on the bottom – all slathered in Cadbury’s milk chocolate, of course. It’s an amazingly filling, satisfying chocolate bar that will pick you up and keep you going too.
Of course, Cadbury’s chocolate is a rare find in Germany generally, and the Double Decker is particularly unusual – but don’t worry, at Dalriata we’ve got plenty of them!
What is a Cadbury’s Double Decker?
Ever since its debut in 1976, the Cadbury’s Double Decker has been one of the UK’s most popular chocolate bars. The name is of course inspired by the famous “double decker” buses common in London and elsewhere in the UK, and refers to the fact that this bar has two distinct layers – one soft and chewy, the other solid and crunchy.
What does a Cadbury’s Double Decker taste like?
Because there are so many different aspects to a Double Decker, this isn’t a simple question to answer! It’s chocolatey, of course, but there’s also a slightly nutty, malty flavour from the nougat. The crunchy cereal base adds biscuit to the mix of flavours. Some people say there’s a slight note of coffee in there too.
It’s quite unlike other Cadbury’s bars such as the Twirl, Wispa or even Crunchie, thanks to that dual-layered filling.
Are you an indecisive person? Do you have trouble choosing what kind of sweet treat you would like to enjoy today? If so, Cadbury’s Double Decker might just be the perfect chocolate bar for you. There’s so much going on in this Cadbury’s classic – it’s really got something for everybody. No matter how you like your chocolate bars, it’s hard to go wrong with a good old Double Decker.
