Our friends at This Works Within are back with another winner! After many requests from our customers, we’re happy at long last to introduce our first fully vegan savoury pie. We’re certain this one is going to be just as popular as the beef, chicken and vegetarian pasties we already have for sale. You don’t have to be vegan to enjoy these pies – they’re absolutely delicious even if you’re an avid carnivore. Thisworkswithin have spent time perfecting this recipe, and the love and effort they’ve put into it shows in every bite.
It’s packed full of roasted vegetables, including carrot, red pepper, beetroot and mushrooms. But what really brings it all together is the amazing vegan feta, made from coconut milk, which melts in the oven and coats everything in flavour.
If you’re looking for a quick, simple and tasty meal, you really can’t go wrong with these savoury pies. Simply take the frozen pastie, put it in the oven at 180ºC, and give it a little time! As the oven’s heat works its magic, the puff pastry rises to form a light, flaky golden crust, and after 35-45 minutes it’s ready to eat.
These pies are every bit as versatile as they are tasty. We usually eat them as part of a full meal, but they’re also perfect for a lighter lunch, or a small meal in between times. For us, they’re unbeatable with some mashed or baked potatoes, green vegetables like asparagus or broccoli, and of course some gravy!
